Ceremonial Cacao

When connection with ancient knowledge meets modern day science.

I’m talking about Ceremonial Cacao, a spiritual invitation for humans to be in gratitude whilst the body is nourished with powerful antioxidants & nutrients.

Ceremonial cacao brings a “heart-opening” experience that is uniquely expansive, peaceful, unguarded, and elevated physically and mentally.

This wonderfully nourishing ingredient has been a part of my daily diet for some years now. It is a powerful practice to set intentions, practise breath work or to simply ground yourself.

There are many different varieties of cacao, different qualities and different therapeutic properties. So when I’m looking for a superior product I go to Seleno Health

Founders Sally & Corin pay respect to the indigenous people of Peru & share a connection to ancient ancestral traditions, whilst also running research programs that studies the biochemistry of cacao.

This is food as medicine at its finest, I hand on heart feel honoured to be able to share such sacred plant medicine that encompasses both the spiritual connection to mother earth and the biochemical nutritional benefits.

The cacao paste block (or drops) must be prepared from only 100% pure organic cacao beans that have been naturally sun-dried, hand-peeled and milled to form the paste. Nothing added, nothing removed. It is cacao at it’s purest form beautifully blended in its own full-fat to produce a creamy 100% pure block.

Cacao contains high levels of antioxidant molecules that can protect our body from cellular damage and support our immune system. The concentration of antioxidants in cacao powder is higher than blueberry, cranberry, and pomegranate powder and has demonstrated a higher antioxidant capacity in a gram by gram comparison.

What makes you feel bliss, joyful, calm & also alert?

It is the beautiful biochemical properties of ceremonial cacao.

· Norepinephrine: Makes you feel joyful. In the brain, norepinephrine plays a role in the sleep-wake cycle, helping you to wake up, in increasing attention and focusing on performing a task, and in memory storage.

· Cacao is high in Tryptophan, which is turned into Serotonin, this helps with feelings of happiness, wellbeing, and creates resistance to stress. It also supports sleep, sexual function, bone health, and blood clotting.

 · Rich in dopamine which gives feelings of motivation and pleasure.

 · Anandamide: The bliss molecule, it is known to induce a feeling of euphoria when released. This can help your body respond to the physiological and psychological stressors we experience in our everyday life. Cacao does not contain anandamide itself but contains NAEs which are similar in structure to anandamide giving pure bliss. - Its gorgeous!

· Phenylethylamine (PEA): Gives the feeling of satisfaction & pleasure. PEA is involved in influencing mood to elevate feelings of happiness, enhance attention span, and even relieve feelings of anxiety and depression.

· Uplifting, theobromine dilates the blood vessels literally opening our hearts & increasing blood flow.

· Cacao contains several essential minerals, including magnesium, calcium, zinc, phosphorus, and iron.

Mineral deficiencies, such as anaemia and calcium deficiency are becoming more prevalent in today’s modern world. We see this over & over again in our clinic that contributes to menstrual issues, headaches, fatigue & whole body health issues.

This superior plant medicine can have powerful health supporting effects on us, it is such a perfect partner to use with meditation, yoga, breath work and other spiritual practices.

Now more than ever we need to nourish our physical & mental health
